Half Year Review
Looking back over the first half of the year, I am pleased with results/training thus far. After finally giving speedwork a good bash this year ( at least consistent), definite improvements in overall speed trickled in.
A jump in training mileage (for me) also helped improve my speed endurance. The main contributor there has been a speed up in average pace/ run, this included recovery runs, which are now mostly under 5min/km pace.
Most pleasing race of the year was Bogong to Hotham in January, a very special run.
Other highlights were:
6 Foot Track PB (first time sub 5hrs).
Good run at Canberra 50km.
10km PB at North Head.
Half marathon PB at SMH.
Poor Man's Comrades PB.
Woodford to Glenbrook PB.
Body’s been handling the training well, albeit I did come down with a nasty cold a few weeks back that stumped me a bit. My bike and swimming training has suffered as a result of a shift in focus to more running miles in prep for GH100 in September, but there is only so much training time available to me.
Looking forward to a (busy) second half year ahead.
