STaR-Homebush Xmas Run/Striders Awards Brunch

Sunday- Headed out with a large 6:10 group. Options of 18km and 25km on a fast and flat course. Beautiful clear morning for it, I ran with Cam and Redback mostly. Some of the guys at the front decided to up the pace at around 4km from 5 min pace to 4:30-4:40s. This was ok but left a few runners wondering about the pacing of the 6:10 group once more. After reaching Silverwater bridge Cam, a couple of other runners and myself opted for the shorter 18k run.
Got back to the Olympic track where we finished with a lap. A good run with average pace 4:41/km. Left hammie still tight after some serious massage the night before? A tad worrying but seemed to loosen up upon running. Just hope it holds up for C2K.
Shower facilities at the Olympic Centre were excellent too.

Awards started at 9am with a brunch and lots of Striders turning up with family. Awards were presented from 10 am onwards. Caught up with C2K crew for a chat afterwards, getting plans together for this weekend.

Not much running from now until Friday morning.

Thanks for your comment on my blog Spud - much appreciated.

Good to see you running in some of my usual haunts - it is a bit flat though huh?

Hope the hammie comes good - still got 4 days ;-)

Good luck with your little (!) adventure this weekend Spud. Can't wait to read your race report.
