STaR-Clovelly Canter-30.8km

Good intentions:
With Undercover Bro in town I swung by his hotel in Sydney town and picked him up on the way to Queens Park. It was quite amusing watching the all night revellers falling out of the nightclub right next to where I picked him up. That was me 10 years ago....yikes.
We arrived at the start about 10 minutes before 6 and quickly darted off for a loo stop. The plan was for me to head off with the 6am group, run the loop through Centennial Park (about 5km) and then pick up Bro as we re-entered Queens Park Rd.
Thing was, when I arrived back there after a very casual 5kms, there was no sign of him. Turns out the 6.10 group stuffed up in the park and overtook us unnoticed (having taken a wrong turn). Bro ended up running off with them, thinking he'd missed me, the cheeky bugger, I must of missed him by a matter of minutes.
Anyway...
The run itself is a ripper for the first 15km taking in the beautiful southern beaches of Sydney and then somewhat dreary as it heads east and away from the coast and north back into the city. It follows a path along the coast to Bronte, Waverley Cemetery, Clovelly, Coogee, Maroubra, Malabar and then back through Hillsdale, Eastgardens, Pagewood, Kensington to the finish. After a very social pace for the first 15kms, Mohammad and I were being pulled along at 5 minute pace. This ended up turning into 4.40 pace for the last 10km, so a good finish. I felt strong the whole way, well the last couople of kms bit but that's ok.
Arrived back at the finish to find Undercover Bro had a niggle free solid 20km hitout, all good. Hung around catching up with Virtual and Jonathon Worswick, who had some timely advice for the Mellum assualt on Hardrock.

A good week post 6FT with 93kms running, a bike and swim too.

That 6:10am group was a mystery. Does anyone know where they went? Great week after Six Foot.
