Beautiful Lake Macquarie

Friday 15th April. 10.3km

Stayed at Bolton Point in my wife's Aunty's house on the lake, excellent place!
Ran from Bolton Point along the lake foreshore to Toronto and then through the Wetlands leading to Fassifern Station. This is a regular run when I'm up here, basically following a dis-used train line from Toronto to Fassifern. Makes for a nice 10km plus run with some nasty hills in the last 3km. Averaged 5:05/km

Saturday 16th April. 0km. Family Day with the kids. Fair at Warners Bay.

Sunday 17th April. 6:15am-30.1km

Long run from Bolton Point-Five Ways-Speers Point-Warners Bay-Eleebana-Valentine return. A lot of this run would be familiar to anyone who has run the Lake Macquarie Half Marathon. Hugging the foreshore of the lake all the way from Speers Point to Eleebana, this is actually part of the Great North Walk. Lots of dog walkers, runners and bike riders about, a crystal clear morning, the rising sun sparkling on the lake. My thoughts were with anyone doing the Chatswood STaR, felt like I was a world away ;-). The first 10km is dead flat, the middle 10km hilly between Warners Bay and Valentine and the last 10km flat again.
Felt wonderful this morning considering a late night and beers the night before.

Finished in 2:35:40 for 5:10/km pace.

Totals for week.

Swim-1km
Bike-45km
Run-91km
