Bobbin Head Revisited STaR
My first STaR in a while, good to get back to some pack running. We had a large 6:10 group with a few runners backing up from yesterdays Striders 10km. ORunner, Redback, Professor, Amjan and Gefjam amongst others. Ran well to the gates at Bobbin Head before the drop to the water, a good pace was set as we averaged just over 5min kms.
This is a H4 run so not without a few hills. We stayed together pretty well for the most part and only really spread out on the climb out of Bobbin Head. Felt reasonable on the hills but was holding back a little feeling the effects of running a 10km the day before, speed was a shock to the system I think.
We regrouped at the water stop and then continued, at one stage running 4:20/km before some bush running and then back out for a few more testing hills before arriving back at Wahroonga Park. I put a bit of a kick in with about 4km to go and finished strongly which was pleasing.
31.6km-2:34:38-(4:53/km)
